Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED - Required
  • Completion of NCS training program or Associates/Bachelors in related - Required
  • Completion of electroneurodiagnostic training program or Associates/Bachelors in related - Required

Nice To Haves

  • Board Certification in NCS by the American Board of Electrodiagnostic Medicine - Preferred
  • 6 months related experience - Preferred
  • EMG/NCS Certificate - Preferred

Responsibilities

  • Assess, plan, coordinate and perform nerve conduction studies and present results to a neurology physician.
  • Provide direct patient care and ensure that the testing site adheres to regulatory standards.
  • Prepare the patient and the study for positive outcomes, including explaining the procedure to the patient.
  • Function independently as a staff END Technician.
  • Maintain all aspects of medical record management and keep current in treatment techniques.
  • Perform standard and complex EMG/NCS studies, EEG studies, and autonomic studies.
  • Obtain recordings and deliver results to physician for interpretation.
  • Report critical test results to interpreting physician and document all communications.
  • Coordinate patient care including scheduling and navigation.
  • Summarize the patient’s neurologic status and clinical history.
  • Maintain equipment and inventory of supplies, reorder as necessary.
  • Detect instrument malfunction and report need for repairs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
