A Brief Overview This Neurodiagnostic Specialist position is 36 hours a week and is a Union position. It is 3 12's- rotating nights, every third weekend and there is a holiday requirement. This position requires Registered EEG tech and ABRET. It also requires 2 years EEG and LTM in pediatric EEG. The Neurodiagnostic Specialist I performs all Neurodiagnostic studies such as routine EEG, Ambulatory with or without video, LTM studies to include certain functions for sEEG patients, and magno-electroencephalography studies for patients (internal or external). The technologist has demonstrated the ability to function independently in both EEG and EMU, as well as successful credentialing as an R. EEG T. The Neurodiagnostic Specialist I, tutors, demonstrates and mentors other team members and EEG students. The Neurodiagnostic Specialist II is responsible for training the EEG technologists/EEG externs. The Neurodiagnostic Specialist I will perform all neurophysiologic procedures involved in the operation of the inpatient EMU, including Phase 1 surface electroencephalographic studies, Phase 2 subdural and depth electrode studies, and any other studies deemed necessary by the Neurodiagnostic Manager and/or Medical Director. The Neurodiagnostic Specialist I will maintain continuing education requirements of ABRET for R. EEG T. by reviewing current literature and attending continuing education meetings and seminars.
