About The Position

This job, under the direction of a radiologist or physician performs peripheral and neurological diagnostic and therapeutic radiographic and fluoroscopic procedures at a level not requiring constant supervision of technical data. The technologist will perform a variety of technical procedures that require independent judgment, ingenuity and initiative in the application of ionizing radiation for diagnostic and therapeutic purposes. Requirements

  • Education - Graduate of an approved school of Radiologic Technology.
  • Experience - One (1) year experience in interventional technology.
  • ARRT registered in Vascular-Interventional (VI) and/or Cardio Vascular (CV)
  • SCRQSA certification (Required for team members working in South Carolina)
  • BLS certification
  • Ability to operate diagnostic imaging equipment/computers
  • Ability to treat patients of all ages
  • Basic computer skills
  • Knowledge of office equipment (fax/copier)
  • Data entry skills
  • Mathematical skills

Nice To Haves

  • Neurointerventional experience preferred.
  • Epic radiant experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Performs all procedures proficiently and strives to maintain high quality.
  • Assists with invasive procedures using aseptic/sterile technique.
  • Properly prepares and administers contrast materials associated with imaging procedures that are within the scope of practice as prescribed by a physician or in approved protocol.
  • Prepares scan room for procedures using approved cleaning protocol.
  • Appropriately discards sharps and maintains adequate level of supplies and linen.
  • Assures that proper radiation safety measures are being utilized.
  • Performs department and hospital related computer functions pertinent to job.
  • Enters and records data accurately and promptly.
  • Exhibits competency in performing QC tasks associated with equipment and procedures and ensures standards are met according to state and federal regulations.
  • Provides clinical instruction to student and staff technologists.
  • Participates independently in call rotation.
  • Stays abreast of organizational, affiliate and departmental changes/updates by checking email on each shift.
  • Implements emergency procedures, as needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
