About The Position

The University of Rochester is seeking a full-time Radiologic Technologist to join the Neurosurgery Clinical Support team. This position is responsible for setting up interventional radiology (IR) rooms specific to the study being conducted and utilizing customer service skills while interacting with patients and their families to create a caring atmosphere during their visit. The role involves preparing rooms and patients for exams, arranging equipment, and ensuring high-quality imaging. The technologist will also maintain accurate patient records and assist in various interventional procedures.

Requirements

• Completion of formal training in an approved School of Radiologic Technology.
• Current NYS licensure and ARRT certification with CE credits as required.
• One-year experience as a Radiologic Technologist preferred.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in interventional radiology procedures.
• Certification in Vascular Interventional Radiology.
• Ability to precept new employees and students.

Responsibilities

• Set up interventional radiology (IR) rooms specific to the study being conducted.
• Utilize customer service skills while interacting with patients and family members.
• Prepare room and patient specific to the exam to be performed.
• Arrange equipment, trays, supplies, and position patients for imaging.
• Verify patient information using electronic patient information systems.
• Observe each patient's status and interpret information to meet age-specific needs.
• Transfer patients to and from imaging tables using assistive devices.
• Scrub with physicians as required.
• Maintain accurate patient record keeping and ensure images are sent to the PACS system correctly.
• Complete and bill for studies accurately.
