About The Position

This full-time position, based at Strong Memorial Hospital, offers an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated and skilled Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to join the Neuroradiology Imaging team within the Department of Imaging Sciences. The role is key in enhancing patient access to care and improving procedural throughput in a collaborative environment. The Neurointerventional Imaging APP will be expected to perform both outpatient and hospital consultations, take patient’s history, perform physical examinations, collaborate on treatment planning and perform radiologic procedures, within their scope of the practice, under the supervision of a licensed Radiologist. The role also includes supporting the education of students and new employees through clinical teaching and skills training. Candidates should be prepared to develop proficiency across the full range of neurointerventional imaging procedures and diagnostic workflows. This position requires the ability to work independently while contributing to team-based care. On the job training is available (as part of onboarding). This position does include call coverage specifically for emergency lumbar punctures/myelograms. It may also expand to include provider support at other ambulatory locations. Additional opportunities for evening moonlighting coverage and potential productivity bonuses are available upon successful completion of orientation and training.

Requirements

  • Hold a current New York State license as a Physician Assistant or Family Nurse Practitioner
  • Have active BLS ACLS certification
  • A minimum of one to two years of clinical practice experience
  • For Nurse Practitioner: Require a Master's degree as a Nurse Practitioner
  • For Nurse Practitioner: Active New York State Registered Nurse license in good standing
  • For Nurse Practitioner: Active New York State Nurse Practitioner licensure in good standing
  • For Nurse Practitioner: Current national certification as an Nurse Practitioner
  • For Physician Assistant: Required completion of an ARC-PA approved Physician Assistant program
  • For Physician Assistant: Active New York State Physician Assistant licensure in good standing
  • For Physician Assistant: Current national certification as a Physician Assistant by NCCPA (National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants)
  • Demonstrate clinical competence
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills
  • Interpersonal effectiveness and customer relation skills
  • Computer competence
  • Must have an active desire to learn

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in neurologic and/or radiologic procedures is strongly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Perform both outpatient and hospital consultations

  • Perform myelography
  • Administer moderate sedation
  • Provide call coverage specifically for emergency lumbar punctures/myelograms
  • Participate in the education of learners (students and new employees), using clinical learning experiences, knowledge sharing and skill training
