About The Position
Heart Group is seeking a Board Certified/Board Eligible (BC/BE) neurosurgeon to join an expanding neurosciences program. The ideal candidate will have a preference for neuroendovascular training and will be part of a dedicated neuroscience team that includes three neurosurgeons and four medical neurologists. This team is supported by a strong group of neuroradiologists, ensuring comprehensive care for patients. The position involves working with an Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system, specifically EPIC, for both inpatient and outpatient settings. The health system provides malpractice coverage, including tail coverage, ensuring that the neurosurgeon is protected in their practice. The compensation package is highly competitive, featuring a base salary along with productivity and incentive bonuses. Additionally, the position includes professional liability coverage and a full benefits package that encompasses life, health, dental, and vision insurance for the physician and their family. The facility is known for its busy emergency department, which handles approximately 100,000 visits annually, and features a ten-bed dedicated Neurotrauma Critical Care Unit. A robust hospitalist service is in place to provide medical consultative support, enhancing the care provided to patients. As a Primary Stroke Center, the facility has recently received the highest award from the American Stroke Association for its outstanding stroke care, and it is awaiting Comprehensive Stroke Center status. The hospital offers state-of-the-art stroke rehabilitation services, and the inpatient rehabilitation program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF). The team includes several physiatrists who direct rehabilitation care, and neuropsychology consultation services are also available to support patient recovery. The position is located in Saginaw County, Michigan, which is part of the Great Lakes Bay Region. This economically diverse area has a population of nearly 200,000 residents and serves as a hub for research, product development, and manufacturing across various industries, including automotive, chemical, and technology.
