About the position

As a Networking Solutions Engineer, you will partner primarily with a Networking Account Executive. In addition, you will work with Portfolio Account Teams, Partners and other cross-functional teams to drive Cisco Networking brand preference with our customers. Working directly with customers, you will capture detailed knowledge of requirements and provide recommendations for the best products and solutions to achieve the desired business outcomes. As a Networking SE Specialist, you will also collaborate with the various Business Entity teams to prioritize and influence features and capabilities roadmap to meet growing customer demands.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with Account Executives to drive business and growth opportunities
  • Driving demand generation activities
  • Enable technology capabilities internally with Portfolio Account Teams and externally with our partners
  • Understanding customer requirements and mapping technical solutions to meet the needs
  • Network design
  • Deep product and solution knowledge: Product positioning, differentiation across solutions, operational characteristics
  • Performing product demo and Proof of Concept (PoC) labs
  • Maintaining competitive knowledge to strategically position Cisco's products and services
  • Following market transition and industry trends to anticipate customer needs
  • Aligning cross-functionally to various business entities and teams across the company
  • Challenger mindset willing to help customers with complex/challenging digital transformation opportunities

Requirements

  • 5+ years of proven experience sizing and designing Routing, Wireless and Switching deployments both On-Prem and Cloud Based
  • 5+ years of developed skills and knowledge in networking protocols (TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, LISP) network segmentation technologies (VRF, MPLS, ZeroTrust, SDA, 802.1x, Adaptive Policy), and network management
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Understanding of competitive networking products such as HPE/Aruba, Juniper, Arista, Fortinet

  • Pre-sales experience
  • Typically requires BS/BA (preferably EE/CS) or equivalent
  • Can work under pressure with minimum supervision
  • Critical thinking to address customer concerns and to support customer business growth
  • Customer-focused attitude
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Cisco and non-Cisco Certifications a plus (CCIE, CCDE, CCNP, DevNet, AWS, Google, Terraform)
  • API and programmability knowledge is a plus
