About The Position

Southern Industrial Constructors is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented IT Network Intern to join our team. This internship offers hands-on experience in network infrastructure, troubleshooting, and support. The ideal candidate is pursuing a degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field and is eager to learn in a dynamic environment. This is a full-time, paid internship working with a large industrial construction company based out of Raleigh, NC. Dates for internship are May 18th - July 31st.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Associate's program in IT, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Basic understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, LAN/WAN).
• Familiarity with Windows and/or Linux operating systems.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• Ability to manage time effectively and work independently when needed.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with network tools such as Wireshark, SolarWinds, or similar.
• Exposure to Cisco, Meraki, or other networking equipment.

Responsibilities

• Help document network configurations, diagrams, and procedures.
• Participate in network upgrades, installations, and patching activities.
• Assist in monitoring and maintaining network systems, including switches, routers, firewalls, and wireless access points.
• Support the IT team in troubleshooting network issues and resolving connectivity problems.
• Assist with user support requests related to network access and performance.
• Learn and apply basic network security principles and practices.
• Collaborate with team members on IT projects and initiatives.
