About The Position

We are seeking a motivated and skilled Network Technician to join our IT Team. This role will be responsible for providing technical support and maintenance for a wide variety of our IT systems, including network infrastructure, software applications, and hardware components. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of IT principles, excellent troubleshooting skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. This is a hands-on position requiring the ability to work independently and as part of a team to ensure the smooth operation of our technological environment. Western States Envelope is a mid-size company with six locations and several remote employees. This position will be on-site at our Butler, WI facility with limited travel as needed. This is a unique opportunity to improve your IT skills by keeping our network up and running 24/7.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or bachelor's degree in information technology or a related field preferred.
  • Proven experience (minimum 1-2 years) in an IT support role, demonstrating experience with a variety of IT systems preferred.
  • Brings a solid understanding of networking concepts and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve network problems.
  • Experienced at troubleshooting common software applications (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite, operating systems).
  • Familiarity with basic hardware troubleshooting and repair.
  • Experience with operating systems (Windows, macOS) and common desktop applications.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues efficiently.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain technical information to non-technical users.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide first and second-level technical support to end-users for network connectivity issues, software applications, and hardware malfunctions.
  • Monitor network performance and identify potential issues proactively.
  • Assist in the configuration, installation, and maintenance of network devices such as routers, switches, firewalls, and access points.
  • Support and maintain numerous software applications, including installation, configuration, and troubleshooting.
  • Perform basic hardware maintenance and repairs on workstations, laptops, printers, and other peripherals.
  • Assist with the deployment and configuration of new hardware and software.
  • Follow established IT procedures and policies.
  • Assist with inventory management of IT assets.
  • Collaborate with other IT team members and vendors as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
