About The Position

We are seeking a Network Team Lead to join our team supporting the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) in Arlington, VA. You will oversee a team of network engineers and be a member of technical team where excellent customer service and professional expertise are required, you will provide expert-level hands on Network Infrastructure Support for the enterprise-wide data communications Network. The mission of FDIC’s Chief Information Officer Organization (CIOO) is to provide scalable, efficient technology that enables continuous access to data securely. In support of this mission, FDIC established ServiceNow as an enterprise platform in 2016 and has since implemented six product suites across the ServiceNow platform. The use of cloud platforms like ServiceNow is a key component of the FDIC’s ongoing IT Modernization Program, which emphasizes accelerated cloud adoption to support mission needs. Requirements

  • BA/BS in Computer Science or Information Systems Management, or an equivalent combination of education or experience.
  • ITIL v3 Foundation Certified Network
  • 10+ years of experience Unified Communications services, including at least 3 years in an IT outsourcing environment to manage Contractor Personnel performance of the Network Services. Six to eight years of experience without certification.
  • Advanced proficiency in Networking concepts.
  • Experience with: Routing; Switching; Virtualization technology; Hybrid Infrastructure deployments; Network connectivity (MPLS, P2P, VPN, remote access); Software Defined Networking (SDN); NIPS/NIDS; Load balancing; DNS; DHCP; QoS, OTV; Network Security; Proxies; Firewalls; Hardware knowledge for installation, repair, troubleshooting and Maintenance; Cisco data network equipment; Avaya Digital Systems; CCIE Certifications preferred; Voice and multi-service gateways; WiFi; AWS and Azure; Network Access Controls (NAC); and WAN Optimization.

Responsibilities

  • Design and troubleshoot complex network architectures
  • Use centralized network management tools to gather statistics and generate usage reports and back up device configurations
  • Have networking, firewall, security, application coding skills and strong knowledge of the HTTP protocols to troubleshoot problems and work with developers to properly implement applications
  • Configure devices and work with application teams to mitigate DHS security findings on a weekly basis including interpreting DHS scans and taking actions on DMZ Devices
  • Generate, read, and interpret network traces to resolve network and application related issues Have strong firewall fundamentals and demonstrate knowledge of ports, protocols and flows for implementation and troubleshooting purposes
  • Have strong understanding of public/private IP address ranges and network address translation
