About The Position

The Network Systems Specialist - Backup Administrator provides a full range of technical services for infrastructure technologies (Servers, SAN) including setup, configuration, implementation, security, system traffic analysis, capacity planning, and daily operations. This role manages small projects and responds to system issues, acting as the secondary enterprise backup administrator.

Requirements

• Master’s degree and the equivalent of two (2) years of full-time experience in computer system hardware, operating systems and software, enterprise networking or computer systems security; or
• Bachelor’s degree and the equivalent of two (2) years of full-time experience as a Network Technician at Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center; or
• Bachelor’s degree and the equivalent of four (4) years of full-time experience in computer system hardware, operating systems and software, enterprise networking or computer systems security; or
• Associates degree and the equivalent of six (6) years of full-time experience in computer system hardware, operating systems and software, enterprise networking or computer systems security; or
• High School Diploma or High School Equivalency Diploma and the equivalent of eight (8) years of full-time experience in computer system hardware, operating systems and software, enterprise networking or computer systems security.

Responsibilities

• Administer Veeam and Commvault Enterprise Backup platforms.
• Manage backup schedules to ensure regular and timely data protection.
• Monitor backup jobs for successful completion and address any anomalies.
• Verify the integrity of backup data to ensure reliability during restoration.
• Restore data as needed in response to system failures or user requests.
• Troubleshoot backup failures and implement corrective actions.
• Document backup procedures and maintain logs for audit and compliance purposes.
• Collaborate with IT teams to ensure backup solutions align with business continuity and disaster recovery plans.
