The Network Systems Analyst is responsible for managing, designing, documenting, and supporting the network and systems for Asheboro City Schools. This role involves coordinating the installation and maintenance of local and wide area networks, ensuring compliance with E-Rate policies, and providing support to IT staff. The analyst also focuses on system security, backup protocols, and training staff to improve response times for connectivity issues.

  • Manage all aspects of network and systems management, design, documentation, and support for Asheboro City Schools.
  • Supervise and coordinate the installation, maintenance, operation, and inventory of local and wide area networks and associated hardware and software.
  • Conduct regular system backups and test disaster recovery protocols.
  • Coordinate with the Chief Information Officer on evaluating networking needs and recommending improvements.
  • Track E-Rate network equipment and ensure compliance with E-Rate policies.
  • Provide Tier 2 support to Help Desk Staff.
  • Administer Active Directory and Group Policy.
  • Develop and implement cross-training methods for IT Support Staff.
  • Implement and monitor the security posture of the school systems network.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation.
  • Provide E-rate Category 1 and Category 2 staff training.
  • Manage end user devices, including setup configurations.
  • Oversee VOIP installations, configurations, and management.
  • Respond proactively to system issues using network monitoring tools.
  • Integrate various Information Technology systems (Access control, security, HVAC, communication, etc.).
  • Serve as the Google G Suite Administrator and Microsoft Office 365 Administrator.
  • Extensive experience in planning, configuring, managing, supporting, and troubleshooting Windows Server environments.
  • Experience with Active Directory and Group Policy administration, File and Print, DNS, and other infrastructure roles.
  • Experience managing Microsoft Office 365.
  • Strong knowledge of computer hardware, software, peripheral devices, web-based technology, Microsoft Windows Server, Microsoft SQL Server, FTP, DHCP, DNS, IIS, Data Backup strategies, VMWare/HyperV, and storage systems.
  • Experience in designing, supporting, and documenting network architecture in a complex environment, including wireless networks.
  • Experience with VLAN, Dynamic VLANs, Routing Protocols, and Radius Authentication.
  • Working experience with network cybersecurity best practices including network segmentation, content filtering, IDS/IPS, endpoint protection, user authentication, and vulnerability assessments.
  • Experience with Brocade/Ruckus switchgear and access points preferred.
  • Experience in an educational setting preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in Network Administration or related discipline, or equivalent combination of training and experience.
