About The Position
The Network/System Administrator II position at P 11 Security, Inc. is a full-time role based in Colorado Springs, Colorado. The primary responsibility of this position is to work with Special Access Programs (SAPs) and other classified networks that support the Space and Missile Systems Center (SMC) Directorates and/or Air Force Space Command (AFSPC) Operational Units. The administrator will provide day-to-day support for Collateral, Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI), and Special Access Program (SAP) activities, ensuring the security and functionality of the network environment. The role involves installing, maintaining, auditing, and supporting a secure Microsoft Windows network environment, as well as limited web and data application services. The administrator will be responsible for maintaining internet applications and protocols such as IP, TCP, HTTP, HTTPS, FTP, and SSL. Additionally, the position requires maintaining file servers, firewalls, network access, security monitoring systems, and system documentation as necessary. The Network/System Administrator II will interface with local customers to provide IT-related support, quickly resolving any issues that arise. This includes analyzing and troubleshooting system anomalies to ensure optimal equipment performance. The administrator will also perform periodic maintenance, hardware upgrades, firmware updates, and system configuration changes, as well as scheduled tape backups on systems as required. Managing the data backup library, including the storage of tapes, disks, and other magnetic media, is also a key responsibility. Participation in planning and requirements meetings with IT staff, program managers, and customers is expected, along with preparing systems for operational use and supporting operational tests. Providing technical guidance is also a critical aspect of this role, ensuring that all systems are functioning effectively and securely.
