As a Network Support Technician - Intermediate, the work you’ll do at GDIT will be impactful supporting the mission of US Army Intelligence and Security Command (INSCOM). You will be responsible for monitoring and responding to complex technical control facility hardware and software problems utilizing a variety of hardware and software testing tools and techniques. This role provides the primary interface with contractor support service groups or provides internal analysis and support to ensure proper escalation during outages or periods of degraded system performance. You may also provide network server support and require extensive knowledge of PC/network communications hardware/software in a multi-protocol environment, and network management software. Additionally, you may function as a lead job providing guidance and training for less experienced technicians. Your responsibilities will include providing Tier I and II support at remote field and garrison sites, performing server and desktop installation, basic cabling, and systems administration of desktop and server systems connected to local and wide area networks. You will also be responsible for desktop system management involving account monitoring, security, operating system (OS) installation, and other local area system administration related functions. You should be capable of running an entire remote site by yourself with demanding customers in austere or garrison locations, maintaining and loading cryptographic devices and keys, performing troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair on many types of hardware and software, and providing advice and training to end users.
