About The Position

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a closely related field and 1 year of experience in network support.
  • Associate's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a closely related field and 2 years of experience in network support.
  • Certifications from a network training program (e.g., CCNA, MCSE) and 3 years of experience in network support.
  • Associate's degree and 3 or more years of hands-on experience providing workstation support.
  • 5 or more years of hands-on experience providing workstation hardware, software, or network support.

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server Operating Systems.
  • Basic knowledge of phone systems.
  • Knowledge of computer software, hardware, and firmware relative to servers and networks.
  • Skilled at installing and providing technical support for software applications and operating systems.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.

Responsibilities

  • Provide support for Microsoft Hyper-V nodes and virtual infrastructure.
  • Plan for high availability configurations and maintain virtual and physical servers.
  • Respond to system warnings, alerts, and errors, diagnosing and resolving system problems.
  • Perform network backups and file restorations, ensuring data integrity.
  • Monitor backups and provide quality control reports of backup results.
  • Coordinate with teams for disaster recovery planning.
  • Configure network devices and implement changes to the network infrastructure.
  • Monitor network performance and troubleshoot network problems and outages.
  • Perform Active Directory administration, managing user and service accounts.
  • Provide technical assistance to GIS and CADD teams with server software upgrades and SQL server access.
  • Configure web applications and SharePoint site collections as a web and SharePoint Administrator.
  • Generate and maintain technical documentation, including network topology diagrams.
  • Maintain a secure environment and monitor for security threats or unauthorized users.
  • Respond to security incidents and perform preliminary analysis.
  • Monitor Service Desk queue and resolve support tickets, documenting work performed.
  • Plan, organize, manage, and track projects, developing project plans and schedules.
  • Participate as a member of statewide teams, sharing information and facilitating decision-making.
