Organization: VUMC IT Wireless Engineering Job Summary: This role provides day-to-day support for Vanderbilt Health's wireless network to ensure employees and devices stay connected and issues are resolved quickly. The role manages and works support tickets, responding to problems that impact users and restoring service in a timely manner. The Network Specialist also helps end users connect approved devices—such as laptops, phones, and tablets—to Vanderbilt Health's secure wireless network. In addition, the role supports the setup and maintenance of wireless equipment, performs coverage checks to confirm strong and reliable wireless access across facilities, and participates in the on-call rotation to help ensure uninterrupted support for critical wireless services.

Requirements

  • Some IT experience (networking, IT support, etc.) with an aptitude to learn & grow
  • Network+ or Cisco Certified Technician (CCT) certifications (preferred)
  • Associates degree or equivalent experience

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for daily operational support, work Pegasus tickets.
  • Work with Senior Network Specialists and the Engineers on wireless trouble tickets and escalations.
  • Participate in On-call rotation.
