About The Position

Abacus Technology is seeking a Network Solutions Architect to provide technical infrastructure support f or the Air Force Intranet Control (AFINC) III Support program at Maxwell AFB/Gunter Annex . This is a full-time position.

Requirements

• 7+ years experience in network engineering and administration.
• HS diploma or GED.
• Must be Security+ CE certified.
• Must be CCNA or CCNP certified.
• Extensive experience designing, installing, configuring, troubleshooting, upgrading, patching, and hardening routers/switches, serial consoles, load balancers, and switches.
• Deep level of understanding/experience with enterprise level network architectures/configurations.
• Able to assess infrastructure, identify areas for improvement, and recommend solutions.
• Extensive experience with security as it pertains to network architecture, desktops, laptops, servers, firewalls, routers, and intrusion detection systems (IDS).
• Solid customer service and communication skills are critical as well as the ability and willingness to communicate effectively and appropriately in an empathetic and understanding manner.
• Must be a US Citizen and hold a current Top Secret clearance with SCI access (TS/SCI).
• Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

Nice To Haves

• CCIE certification desired.
• Knowledge of Software Defined Networking (SDN) is desired.
• Experience with network monitoring and management using an automated solution.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and simulate network traffic to aide in problem resolution or to test updated configurations in virtual or physical lab environments.
• Optimize, oversee, and support enterprise communications networks including overlaying security technologies.
• Monitor and test network performance and provide network performance statistics, reports, and recommended fix actions.
• Support network and security controls design review implementation and troubleshooting of IT security systems including hardware software and appliances.
• Evaluate Cloud offerings and provides recommendations to leadership for improved mission effectiveness, cost effectiveness, and operational efficiencies.
• Monitor system utilization and circuit bandwidth and report anomalies to Government team leads.
• Develop, execute, modify or remove scripts to assist in automation of tasks, as possible.
• Review and document all workload activities per incident or change request to eliminate re‐work or for auditing/investigation purposes.
