We are currently looking for a Network Solutions Architect to join our Infrastructure Team which is responsible for developing and supporting Gcore global infrastructure including Data Center infrastructure, hardware, and connectivity.

Requirements

  • Proven hands-on experience in designing and operating large-scale, carrier-grade networks.
  • English - Advanced (C1).
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Telecommunications, Computer Science, or a related field is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of Internet routing protocols: BGP (including communities, route reflection, traffic engineering), OSPF, IS-IS, MPLS.
  • Experience in interconnection and peering: establishing and managing Private Network Interconnects (PNI), working with Internet Exchange Points (IXPs), and coordinating with ISPs.
  • Understanding of global network infrastructure: submarine cables, backbone connectivity, metro networks, and data center interconnects (DCI).
  • Familiarity with CDN architecture, caching strategies, and traffic distribution models.
  • Experience in network capacity planning and traffic engineering on a regional or global scale.
  • Solid background in network security at scale: DDoS mitigation, blackholing, traffic scrubbing.
  • Hands-on experience with carrier-grade hardware (Cisco, Juniper, Arista, Nokia).
  • Experience in creating high-level peering and interconnection strategies and ability to suggest and support negotiation and collaboration with ISPs, carriers, and data center providers based on those strategies.
  • Capability to act as a bridge between business teams and technical operations in global connectivity projects.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills in high-availability, high-traffic environments.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, listening, negotiation and presentation skills.
  • Ability to think strategically about global network growth and resilience.
  • Ability to "think on your feet" in order to address new and changing environments.
  • Sense of urgency and ability to meet aggressive deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Design and evolve the company’s global network infrastructure, ensuring scalability, resilience, and optimal performance across multiple regions and data centers.
  • Develop and maintain interconnection strategies with ISPs, carriers, and Internet Exchange Points to improve network efficiency and reduce latency.
  • Plan and manage capacity expansion projects, including opening new PoPs, upgrading backbone links, and optimizing global routing.
  • Lead the design and operation of DDoS mitigation systems, ensuring high availability and minimal service impact during large-scale attacks.
  • Collaborate with CDN and NOC teams to optimize content delivery performance and edge network efficiency.
  • Implement and maintain network automation and monitoring tools to improve visibility, reliability, and operational efficiency.
  • Coordinate with vendors, partners, and industry peers to ensure best practices in connectivity, security, and global traffic management.
  • Prepare and maintain architectural documentation, design guides, and operational procedures.
  • Stay current with emerging Internet technologies and standards, providing recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Provide consultative support to other teams specialists: PM, operation teams, field engineers.
  • Actively participate in Solution Architect Team communication. Share ideas in order to define complex solution.
