About The Position
Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Network Security Engineer to join our team in Arlington, VA. The Network Security Engineer will provide architectural, technical, and problem-resolution support for network and security infrastructure, ensuring a secure and scalable environment aligned with federal security requirements.
Requirements
- 10+ years of technical Network/Security Engineering experience
- Extensive experience with Palo Alto Firewalls (3200 and 5200/5400/5600 series)
- Expertise in Palo Alto Panorama (9.x and above) and GlobalProtect
- Strong knowledge of Threat Protection, URL filtering, TLS decryption, PKI, and PCAPS
- Experience with application-based traffic and firewall design (internal/perimeter/external)
- Familiarity with Palo Alto Prisma Access and Zero Trust Network Access
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a US government security clearance

- Desired certifications: CCNP, CCDP, CCSP, CISSP, OSCP, PCNSE, PCNSA, ITIL
Responsibilities
- Design and implement secure network architectures across multiple domains
- Administer and optimize Palo Alto Firewalls, Panorama, and GlobalProtect solutions
- Troubleshoot and resolve Tier III network and security issues
- Review and recommend configuration changes for security compliance
- Participate in system upgrades, deployments, and enhancements
- Collaborate on Zero Trust and Prisma Access strategies
- Support after-hours maintenance for outages and critical upgrades
