Requirements

  • Active Secret security clearance (Tier 5)
  • Bachelor of Science in Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering
  • Active DoD Approved 8570 Baseline Certification: Category IAT Level III (One of the Following): CASP+ CE CCNP Security CISA CISSP (or Associate) GCED GCIH CCSP
  • Minimum of 8 years of full-time professional Network Engineering experience, with proven expertise in: Network security design, implementation, and control enforcement.
  • STIG application for system and device hardening.
  • Configuration and management of Active Directory environments.
  • Vulnerability scanning and analysis using ACAS.
  • Cisco device configuration and secure network management.
  • Network traffic inspection using tools like Wireshark and tcpdump.
  • Deployment and management of firewalls and IDS/IPS technologie s.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain secure network infrastructure, enforcing security controls across hardware, software, and network components.
  • Conduct STIG implementation to ensure systems meet DoD security compliance standards.
  • Configure and manage Active Directory environments to support secure authentication and policy enforcement.
  • Perform vulnerability assessments using the Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS), analyze results, and implement corrective actions.
  • Configure and maintain Cisco networking devices, including routers, switches, and firewalls, in accordance with DoD and Navy standards.
  • Analyze network traffic using packet analyzers such as Wireshark and tcpdump to detect anomalies and performance issues.
  • Implement and manage firewall solutions and intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS) for network perimeter defense.
  • Collaborate with cybersecurity, engineering, and IT teams to maintain system documentation and support continuous monitoring and accreditation efforts.
