As a Rackspace Network Security Engineer, you'll be a key element within our support infrastructure team and expected to provide a high level of technical support to our customers. You'll own complex customer issues and keep our customers updated through every step of the process. You'll be supporting many elements of the RackspaceCloud product portfolio. You'll create and maintain customer loyalty by providing a fanatical experience above and beyond customer expectations. Work Location: If located near a Rackspace office, you'll work a hybrid schedule… 2 days in the office and three days remote. If not located near an office, you may work 100% remotely.

  • Be the technical point of escalation to the Cloud Support and Engineering teams; resolving customer issues.
  • Monitor and provide maintenance for all related infrastructure.
  • Ensure the control, integrity, and accessibility of the cloud environment.
  • Implement large, complex enterprise-class solutions.
  • Lead tasks relating to system architecture enhancements, problem management, fleet.
  • Lead Workload/Workforce Management and Optimization related tasks.
  • Provide technical expertise underpinning communications targeting a range of stakeholders - from individual contributors to leaders across the business.
  • Collaborate with Account Managers and Business Development Consultants to build strong customer relationships.
  • Share knowledge with other Engineers and Administrators on the support floor.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field of study is preferred.
  • High School Diploma is required.
  • Minimum of one year of relevant experience.
  • Palo Alto Networks Certified Next-Generation Firewall Engineer (PCNSE) certification is preferred.
  • Ability to work with F5 load balancers.
  • Experience with Palo Alto firewalls.
  • Knowledge of ethical hacking, firewall and intrusion detection/prevention technologies, secure coding practices and threat modeling.
  • Advance knowledge and experience of virtualization technologies, Windows and Unix/Linux operating systems.
  • Advance knowledge and experience of network and server hardware infrastructures and storage technologies (NAS, SAN).
  • Experience with designing secure network architectures, identity and access management principles, application security, encryption technologies, DNS, SOA, database and web applications.
  • Must have excellent communication skills and the ability to articulate complex scenarios with clear solutions.
  • Ability to make appropriate decisions considering the relative costs and benefits of potential actions.
  • The anticipated starting pay range is: $54,800 - $91,300.
  • Variable compensation in the form of bonus, commissions, or other discretionary payments based on company and/or individual performance.
