About The Position

The Office of Innovation & Technology (OIT) is the central IT agency for the City of Philadelphia headed by the Chief Information Officer (CIO). OIT oversees all major information and communications technology initiatives for the City of Philadelphia - increasing the effectiveness of the information technology infrastructure, where the services provided are advanced, optimized, and responsive to the needs of the City of Philadelphia’s businesses, residents, and visitors. OIT responsibilities include: identifying the most effective approach for implementing new information technology directions throughout city government; improving the value of the city’s technology assets and the return on the city’s technology investments; ensuring data security continuity; planning for continuing operations in the event of disruption of information technology or communications services; and supporting accountable, efficient and effective government across every city department, board, commission and agency. The Network Security Analyst is an integral position within the Network operations group. This role is responsible for supporting and sustaining existing security processes for the City of Philadelphia along with developing new processes.

  • SIEM
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field.
  • Three to Five years applicable work experience in IT with emphasis in network security.
  • Experience managing and maintaining complex networking systems and hardware.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with the following compliance requirements a plus (HIPAA, CJIS, and IRS1075)
  • Network Security certification preferred.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience deemed acceptable by the Office of Innovation & Technology and Human Resources also considered.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze alerts from monitoring tools to determine remediation.
  • Assist with configuration of policy and implementation.
  • Assist with security controls to meet auditing requirements.
  • Interface with department leaders as needed for remediation purposes.
  • Work with customers to form and fix appropriate policy and signature rules.
