About the position

OnTrac is seeking a skilled and motivated Network Security Administrator to join our dynamic IT team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining, and supporting our growing network infrastructure. This role will involve working closely with other network professionals and departments to ensure the stability, integrity, and efficient operation of the in-house information systems that support core organizational functions. The Network Security Administrator is responsible for ensuring the security and integrity of the organization's network infrastructure. This role involves provisioning, deploying, configuring, troubleshooting, and administering all network equipment and network security-related hardware and software. The Network Security Administrator will implement, review, and test security measures to protect the networks from cyber-attacks, hacking attacks, intrusion, infiltration, and natural disasters. This position requires collaboration with various departments to maintain a secure and efficient network environment.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in maintenance, designing and implementing new network solutions and/or improving the efficiency of current networks design and implement Cloud Networking solutions in GCP/Azure and on-prem
  • Familiar with appliances such as Fortigate, and Meraki (Firewalls, switches and Wireless)
  • Provision, deploy, configure, troubleshoot, and administer all network equipment and network security-related hardware and software
  • Implement, review, and test security measures to protect the networks from cyber-attacks, hacking attacks, intrusion, infiltration, and natural disasters
  • Review, assess, and mitigate network vulnerabilities
  • Write, review, and update IT Security SOPs
  • Work towards compliance, mitigation, and remediation processes and procedures
  • Perform any other tasks or assignments as deemed necessary by the organization
  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time as needed
  • Maximize network performance through ongoing maintenance, monitoring and troubleshooting
  • Investigate and resolve network issues, providing technical support and guidance as needed
  • Involved in planning and deploying scheduled upgrades
  • Monitor network performance and provide regular updates on the network status to team members
  • Assist in preparing daily status updates, including visualization charts for network performance
  • Stay current with new tools and products. Adapt and learn as new technologies are introduced, vetting these to present possible improvements to the team

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
  • Proven experience in network administration and engineering
  • Strong knowledge of network infrastructure technologies, including routers, switches, WAN accelerators, DNS, and DHCP
  • Experience with network monitoring and troubleshooting tools
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment

Nice-to-haves

  • Relevant certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or similar are a plus
  • Familiarity with network security principles and practices
  • Experience in designing network solutions and implementing new technologies
  • Ability to create and present visualization charts for network performance
  • Strong customer service orientation with a focus on delivering high-quality outcomes
