About The Position

This PRN position involves performing X-ray and CT in a busy rural facility with varied shifts. The role includes performing diagnostic imaging examinations on patients, ensuring the production of quality diagnostic images within Network locations. The technician will operate equipment to produce diagnostic images according to patient cases and relevant guidelines, ensuring the quality of images is satisfactory for clinical purposes. The position also requires delivering excellent patient care and education before, during, and after diagnostic imaging procedures.

Requirements

  • Completion of an educational program accepted by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) is required.
  • Working knowledge of diagnostic radiographic principles, including radiographic positioning, film/image processing, quality control, and radiation protection is required.
  • Registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) is required.
  • Must have at least one additional modality recognized by ARRT, such as CT, MR, M, or BD.
  • Licensure with the North Dakota Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy Board (NDMIRT) is required if working in North Dakota.
  • Candidates in South Dakota must obtain their ARRT certification within 60 days of hire.
  • In Iowa, all technologists must have a permit to practice through the Iowa Department of Public Health.
  • A Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification may be required within the first eight weeks of hire at some clinic locations.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within six weeks of employment and re-certification as necessary is required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform diagnostic imaging examinations on patients.
  • Operate equipment to produce diagnostic images according to patient cases and relevant guidelines.
  • Ensure the quality of images is satisfactory for clinical purposes.
  • Ensure accurate patient positioning during radiographic procedures.
  • Conduct image operations according to provider requests and other technical factors.
  • Implement radiation safety guidelines and conduct proper radiation protection practices during the imaging process.
  • Deliver excellent patient care and education before, during, and after diagnostic imaging procedures.
  • Navigate the electronic medical record (EMR) system.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
  • Participate in on-call rotation nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
