About The Position

The Network Operations Specialist locally operates, maintains, checks, provisions, and monitors Claro's Telecommunications network, which includes equipment and transmission Transport Systems, equipment and switching systems, equipment and systems for the data network, network access and power supply Systems, both current and future equipment arising from growth, technological change, modernization, and new services of the company.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree in Computer Science, Network Operations, Information Technology, or related discipline (required)
  • 4-6 years + 5 years' experience in telecommunications network maintenance or a similar role (required)
  • Ability to manage priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently and be a team player.
  • Ability to work in a constantly changing, fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Knowledge of network, system, and application security.
  • Verbal and written communication skills.
  • Advanced understanding of the application of wireline copper and fiber network technology.
  • Excellent multitasking and organization skills.
  • Ability to work cooperatively within a team.
  • Ability to solve technical problems quickly and efficiently.
  • Bilingual (English and Spanish) Medium
  • CCNA - Cisco Certified Network Technician Information Technology

Responsibilities

  • Operate, maintain, check, provision, and monitor locally, equipment, systems, facilities, and networks of Claro's Telecommunications Network.
  • Operate, maintain, check, provision, and monitor equipment, systems, and facilities of telecommunications networks of third parties (carriers or customers), based on contracts with Claro Enterprise Solutions.
  • Implement work orders for the commissioning of infrastructure, facility upgrades, and connectivity for Claro Enterprise Solutions’ Telecommunications Network.
  • Execute the work orders for the provision of services to Carriers and customers of Claro Enterprise Solutions’ Telecommunications Network.
  • Perform the activities necessary to restore the continuity and quality of service.
  • Maintain Claro Enterprise Solutions POP facilities in accordance with health, safety, and optimal condition standards, in accordance with Telmex and Claro Enterprise Solutions quality parameters. Also, keep computers and Claro Enterprise Solutions’ network systems in compliance with Telmex and Claro Enterprise Solutions' quality standards, including their identification and labeling.
  • Plan and follow up on detailed preventive and corrective maintenance programs to ensure the service meets the quality parameters required by Telmex and Claro Enterprise Solutions.
  • Update, standardize, and sustain the inventories, databases, files, and equipment software of Claro’s Telecommunications Network systems to ensure the quality and availability of information and the continuity of service.
  • Travel may be required to other Claro Enterprise Solutions POPs within the U.S. and to any future sites defined by the company to ensure continuity and quality of service.
  • Training is conducted based on the needs of Claro Enterprise Solutions Network for network maintenance, either at the POP, at another U.S. city, at Telmex’s training facilities (Intelmex) in Mexico, or at provider training centers in Mexico or another U.S. city.
