What you will do to contribute to the company's success Manipulates network traffic, facilitates cleaning, repairs, and replacement of company-owned fiber, transport, Optical, and Access Equiptment. Plans and executes network maintenance tasks. Takes and responds to network-related Incidents, tasks, Cross channel escalations and email requests. Answers questions regarding fiber optic problems, updates trouble tickets, accomplishes break-fix action, and schedules maintenance activities. Performs proactive audits to identify potential network performance problems. Acts as NOC Tier 2 receiving and acting on escalations from Enterprise Service Operations, NOC Monitoring and Sales. Obtains status, engages in testing, troubleshoots fiber transport with local systems and transport vendors on basic - Advanced Optical, Core and Transport.

Requirements

  • Associate degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school and a minimum of six months related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Excellent computer skills required, including knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite of applications.
  • Must be flexible and able to work alternate shifts as required to support the 24/7 operation.
  • Must participate in On-Call Rotation.
  • Must be able to work under pressure.
  • Must be a self-starter and a team player.
  • High Performer, Self Driven, and takes Accountability.
  • Excellent Communications Skills

Nice To Haves

  • A minimum of six months experience in a network operations environment preferred.
  • CCNA certification Preferred.
