About The Position

Leidos is seeking an Network Operations Shift Lead to join our Defense Enclave Services (DES) team, who will support data system services and operations and a digital modernization program critical to DISA and the Fourth Estate Agencies at Fort Meade, MD. Day Shift Lead schedule: M-F, 7am - 3pm PROGRAM SUMMARY: The DES program supports a highly demanding mission and requires expert technical and professional management to DISA enterprise Information Technology (IT) services. You will be working in support of a large and complex IT consolidation, migration, and modernization effort towards a Single Service Provider model that provides sustainment, maintenance, Problem and Change management services to help ensure secure, reliable, and uninterrupted availability of the DoD networks and services. CLEARANCE REQUIREMENT: •Must hold an active Secret security clearance. (US Citizenship required)

Requirements

Bachelor's degree and 4+ years of relevant experience; additional years of experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree.
Experience with Active Directory, SolarWinds and SharePoint.
Experience with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
Experience with technical writing and reporting.
Experience creating/running ServiceNow ITSM reports.
Must have an active DoD IAT Level II certification (Security+ CE), prior to start.
Must hold an active Secret security clearance. (US Citizenship required)

Nice To Haves

ITIL V3/V4.
Experience using vSphere.
Experience briefing Senior Leaders.
Possess an in-depth knowledge of DoD Enterprise IT policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

Oversee the day-to-day operational services provided in support of the Defense Enclave Services (DES) and its customers.
Monitor and supervise activities involved with the daily services to all DES computing assets to include Network Control Center, Problem Management, Video and VoIP support, VIP support, and the Joint Operations Center.
Manage integration of the network system management tools.
Manage Network Management Systems monitoring and reporting.
Interface between the customer and DISA leadership and provide input into the management activities.
Operate as a team leader, overseeing 5+ people, on a 24 x 7 x 365 operational support team focused on identifying, replying, and resolving alerts / incidents.
Perform network monitoring technical support and analysis for network systems and components, LAN/WAN communications, and transmission systems, including Wireless LAN infrastructure.
Perform critical/emergency systems administration tasks affecting the production environment.
Ensure that personnel receive adequate guidance and direction for performing their daily tasks and will be accountable for developing/presenting briefings, preparing correspondence, and preparing project status reports, etc..
Correspond clearly and succinctly, both written and orally, and present products and ideas in a professional business-like manner.
Maintain the availability of environments for projects and follows application deployment/configuration plans.
Implement reporting and dashboards based on monitored network services.
Utilize reporting tools to generate ad-hoc and daily/weekly/monthly reports.
Onboarding / off boarding network and other assets to maintain a current and up to date monitoring infrastructure.
Create twice daily status reports and outage reports.
Document significant events within the Master Station Log (MSL).
Create incident tickets and escalate to the appropriate teams within the approved timeframe for network outages.
Track the status of network outages and VIP tickets; including higher level outages.
This is on-site support and will have to occasionally work on weekends, as needed.
