About The Position

Leidos, a leading defense, intelligence, and technology company, is seeking a motivated Network Operations intern to join our Digital Modernization Group on the Global Solutions Management - Operations II (GSM-O II) contract at Ford Island, HI. As part of our team, you'll contribute to the operations, sustainment, and defense of the Defense Information System Network (DISN) within the DOD Information Network (DODIN), supporting the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA). Join our Operational Engineering team and tackle real-world challenges, contributing directly to the security and reliability of vital communication networks in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Requirements

  • Actively pursuing a degree in a relevant field (e.g., Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology) from an accredited college/university.
  • Solid understanding of IT principles, programming fundamentals, and networking concepts (OSI Model, Python, Ansible, Yang, HTML/XML, VBA, SQL, Unix/Linux, Bash, SED/AWK).
  • Proven ability to perform data analysis, extract meaningful insights, and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Commitment to obtaining Security+ certification (or equivalent DoD 8570 IAT II certification) within a specified timeframe.
  • Ability to obtain a Secret clearance; Interim Secret required to start (selected candidates will be sponsored for required clearance).
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Reliable transportation to Ford Island is required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform functional analysis of data and network designs to ensure efficient operation.
  • Convert customer requirements into precise hardware and software specifications.
  • Provide customer support of user's questions and issues during all phases of the Network Engineering lifecycle.
  • Perform trouble analysis of data and network design.
  • Create documentation and collect metrics for timely government reporting.
  • Administer servers and applications, ensuring system stability and security.
  • Customer provisioning and onboarding.
  • Phase-out of legacy technology and introduction of modern infrastructure and applications.
