About The Position

Network Operations Interns support the GD Mission Systems enterprise network by monitoring, troubleshooting, and fulfilling support requests. The selected candidate will have the opportunity to work on SDWAN, LAN, and/or WLAN technologies, and will have exposure to enabling technologies such as network access controls and network monitoring tools.

Requirements

• Thorough understanding of network operations principles
• Enrolled in an accredited degree program in Computer Science, Information Technology, or Network Engineering
• U.S. citizenship required due to the nature of work
• Eligibility for access to classified information

• Clear and concise oral and written communication skills
• Demonstrates personally accountable behavior and shows initiative
• Ability to follow detailed task direction and instructions
• Working knowledge of network principles, practices, and mindset
• Basic understanding of network protocols and technologies (TCP/IP, DNS, routing)
• Familiarity with scripting languages (Python or Bash)
• Basic understanding of network monitoring tools and platforms
• Working knowledge of server architecture and virtualization technologies
