Our Commercial Space team is positioned to contribute to the future of space exploration as we build partnerships with established leaders in Commercial Space. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to play in a role in various commercial space endeavors with our partners that include Intuitive Machines, Axiom Space, Lockheed Martin, and others.

Requirements

  • BS degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent from an accredited engineering school and three (3) years of related network design or operations experience -OR- BS degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent from an accredited engineering school and five (5) years of related network design or operations experience
  • Strong grounding in IP networking concepts, including routing, switching, and network analysis/modeling tools.
  • Ability to work shifts and provide after‑hours operational coverage when needed.
  • High degree of operational discipline, precision, and attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen and successfully complete a U.S. government background investigation.

  • Must have sufficient mobility to enter areas of test facilities where necessary.
  • Regular attendance in accordance with established work schedule is critical.

  • This position may require some commuting and traveling to other installations as needed.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting mission‑critical, customer‑facing, or high‑availability network systems.
  • Background in satellite communications, space relay networks, or ground station operations.
  • Experience operating within real‑time command centers or console‑based environments.
  • Familiarity with scripting, automation tooling, or configuration management systems.

Responsibilities

  • Perform real‑time network configuration updates to support mission timelines, customer objectives, and spacecraft positioning.
  • Monitor live network performance and rapidly address anomalies to reduce operational impacts.
  • Develop advanced proficiency in Delay Tolerant Networking (DTN) for communications across lunar and cislunar environments.
  • Handle urgent customer‑driven requests during critical mission windows.
  • Track network trends, recurring issues, and system behavior to recommend reliability improvements.
  • Deliver clear status updates and operational assessments to internal teams and customers.
  • Participate in simulations, training runs, and mission rehearsals to maintain operational readiness.
  • Support development projects that enhance automation, tools, and operational workflows.
