The Network Operations Center (NOC) Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the NOC team to ensure the stability, integrity, and efficient operation of the organization's IT infrastructure and network systems. This role involves managing a team of NOC engineers and technicians, developing operational procedures, monitoring system performance, and coordinating incident response and resolution. The NOC Manager plays a critical role in maintaining high availability and performance of network services, proactively identifying and mitigating issues, and ensuring compliance with service level agreements (SLAs). This position requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and a commitment to continuous improvement in a 24/7 operational environment.

  • Lead and manage the NOC team, including staffing, scheduling, training, and performance management.
  • Oversee real-time monitoring of network systems, servers, and critical infrastructure to ensure optimal performance and uptime.
  • Develop and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) for incident detection, escalation, and resolution.
  • Coordinate with internal teams and external vendors to resolve complex network and infrastructure issues.
  • Analyze incident trends and system performance metrics to identify areas for improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with SLAs and provide regular reporting on system health and incident response.
  • Participate in disaster recovery planning and execution.
  • Maintain documentation of network configurations, processes, and troubleshooting guides.
  • Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies to enhance NOC capabilities.
  • Regularly update network software to address vulnerabilities and bugs.
  • Bachelor's degree with preferred emphasis in Management Information Systems or Computer Science or equivalent work experience in a similar role.
  • 8+ years of network experience with Cisco LAN/WAN experience, 2+ years in a team lead or supervisor role.
  • Strong understanding of network infrastructure, protocols, and monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Nagios, Splunk).
  • Experience with incident management frameworks (e.g., ITIL).
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, 24/7 operational environment.
  • Project Management Experience
  • Network Certifications (CCNA or CCNP) or other equivalent network certifications
  • 2-3 years SD-WAN experience
  • Managing all types of network transport including: MPLS, Ethernet, Broadband, T1's, LTE, and Satellite.
  • 5+ years' experience in incident and problem management
