About The Position

A qualified candidate will monitor the current state of the production environment, identify unscheduled interruptions to systems and services when they occur, and perform initial troubleshooting and incident management. This position oversees root cause analysis of problems and service interruptions across the organization, will facilitate service and system restoration efforts and communications, working closely with other support teams. Takes ownership of the IT/network strategy and solution delivered by the organization at an account level. Develops and delivers presentations on technical solutions to client and technical team, as well as captures and communicates client-specific best practices and lessons-learned using knowledge management tools and professional relationships. Has broad technical expertise across multi-platforms and multi-vendor operating environments, including data centers and distributed computing environments.

Requirements

  • Ability to obtain an EOD and Public Trust Clearance
  • Experience with ServiceNow IT ticketing system
  • General network knowledge of firewalls, switches, and servers (Windows Servers, Linux Servers, AWS, and Azure Cloud Services)
  • 2-4 years of experience in large computing or network operation center.

Responsibilities

  • Provide coverage for monitoring enterprise systems and services on a 24/7/365 shift basis.
  • Identify, report, and handle incidents.
  • Resolve all but unique technical problems without the intervention of management or a more experienced technical specialist.
  • Analyze, assess, document, and resolve software and hardware service outages.
  • Facilitate technical meetings, take detailed notes, and write after-action reports.
  • Communicate, coordinate, and facilitate ad hoc conference calls among service and system Subject Matter Expert (SME) to resolve interruptions affecting production services.
  • Review and respond to and resolve events reported by customers or monitoring tools.
  • Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Escalate problems to management, as necessary.
  • Develop and recommend techniques to address problem situations.
