About The Position

The Network Materials Manager is responsible for ensuring material availability across the Food & Burt’s business unit. This includes overseeing safety stock strategy, system updates, purchase order placement, transition management, and material lifecycle planning. The role plays a critical part in aligning material planning with customer needs, inventory targets, and strategic business goals This role reports to the MSM Lead and will work with: Network Scheduling Manager, IBP teams, Plant Leadership, and Materials teams. This role has total responsibility for material availability across the business unit. This includes material safety stock strategy, safety stock settings, system updates- , PO placement, transition management and material lifecycle management. Time Horizon - 4 to 24 months

Requirements

  • 3 plus years in materials planning roles
  • 3 plus years managerial experience in Supply Chain roles
  • 5 plus years managerial experience in Supply Chain roles
  • 5 plus years of work experience in scheduling and materials planning roles
  • Strong understanding of inventory setting and control principles and MRP management tools
  • Demonstrated leadership, interpersonal, communication and teambuilding skills
  • Exceptional communicator
  • Experience using Advanced Planning software tools such as SAP ECC, BW, and Rapid Response.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to build strong relationships across the functions and levels
  • Demonstrated strong aptitude in analysis, root causes identification, and problem solving
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience (preferably in Engineering or Technology)
  • 15%-20% Travel Required

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for managing BU manufacturing plants inventory strategies and ensuring that material plans are meeting customer needs and inventory targets
  • Lead and manage a team of BU Materials Planners and BU Materials Coordinators. Develop and implement standardized work across these new roles, with the end state of improving overall plant and network material management performance.
  • Own Raw/Pack materials safety stock strategy for a BU and all associated workstreams to right size working capital for the BU in partnership with Planning.
  • Enable the visibility of materials capacity across the BU’s network (including integration within ISA meetings). Scenario plan for trade-offs associated with material availability.
  • Collaborate with R&D, quality, planning and production services to ensure effective change management, prioritization and planning at the site (will include OTV and IBP participation).
  • Manage supply disruptions by flagging issues, identifying alternatives, assessing cost impacts and driving strategic network decisions.
  • Reporting and Automation: Design and implement automated inventory reporting systems to improve managerial oversight of working capital costs. Develop plans to reduce working capital over time without sacrificing availability
  • Monitor and communicate Supplier and Network Health KPIs to BU SC Squad and Procurement teams. Integrate supplier performance data into future supplier Scorecard metrics.
