The Network Intern will contribute to critical infrastructure projects on the networking team. The IT Networking department is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the backbone of the organization’s technology environment. This includes managing network hardware, optimizing system performance, and ensuring secure and efficient connectivity across the enterprise. Panduit Intern Program Our program consists of not only working with your functional area but getting to know the entire summer cohort of interns across Panduit. You can also expect to get to know leaders at Panduit through special presentation sessions. Panduit's University Relations Program offers college-level students with the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a professional environment. As a University Relations Program participant, you work directly with Panduit experts solving complex industry challenges, applying the concepts learned from coursework, and using your knowledge to make a difference. Requirements

  • At least a sophomore in a 4-year degree program
  • Computer Science, Information Technology, Network Engineering, or Electrical Engineering Major.
  • Knowledge of networking concepts such as IP addressing and subnetting, VLANs and basic routing principles, and network protocols.
  • Experience or coursework related to network administration or IT infrastructure.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to document processes and technical configurations clearly.
  • Exposure to network monitoring tools like SolarWinds or similar platforms.
  • Familiarity with operating systems such as Windows or Linux.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with network hardware, including switches and routers, is a plus.
  • Knowledge of scripting or automation tools (e.g., PowerShell, Python) is desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Switch Refresh: Assisting in the replacement and configuration of outdated network switches to enhance performance and reliability.
  • Wireless Guest Portal: Supporting the development, testing, and deployment of a user-friendly guest Wi-Fi portal for secure and seamless connectivity.
  • SolarWinds Maintenance: Performing routine updates, monitoring configurations, and analyzing data to optimize the SolarWinds platform.
  • Network performance monitoring
  • Troubleshooting connectivity issues
  • Documenting IT processes and configurations.
