The Installation Engineer will be responsible for the design, configuration, installation, programming, and maintenance of audio video solutions for classrooms and event spaces. This includes managing and facilitating the physical installation of all networking equipment such as network switches, wireless access points, and telephones, as well as physical security equipment like surveillance cameras and access control devices. The role also involves the installation of structured cabling, including Single-Mode Fiber Optic, Multi-Mode Fiber Optic, Cat6, Cat6E, and other low voltage cabling. The engineer will provide 2nd and 3rd level support for audio video solutions and 1st and 2nd level support for networking and physical security solutions. Additionally, the engineer will create and maintain documentation, assist in vendor relationships, participate in university-wide activities, and collaborate on major technology initiatives.
