Overview Responsibilities of this role are to maintain cable systems, by installing, programming, and upgrading cable infrastructure, perform major and minor preventive maintenance and repairs by fixing cabling system issues. Identify, track and remove abandoned cable. Test every newly installed or relocated cable in accordance with established procedures. Keep cable neatly tied and bundled while maintaining safety standard. Develop in-depth knowledge of National Building Codes and standards. Technicians must install closet hardware, including connecting blocks, fiber enclosures, racks, backboards, and patch panels. They should be able to work on all aspects of telecommunication industry when required, such as wiring practices, color code and terminations, the ability to understand signal flow and signal path, and DSL and Ethernet connections. Responsibilities Maintain cable systems by installing, repairing, programming, and upgrading cable infrastructure Liaison between building facilities and commercial contractors, approving cabling for remodels and new construction Perform major and minor preventive maintenance and repairs by solving cabling system issues. Keep cable tied and bundled while maintaining safety standard. Identify, track and remove abandoned cable Test every newly installed or relocated cable in accordance with established procedures Develop in-depth knowledge of National Building Codes and standards They should have experience bending and running conduit, with digital multi-meters Perform additional duties as assigned.
