As a Network Implementation Engineer at Google, you will play a crucial role in the deployment, maintenance, and operations of private data networks globally. This position involves collaboration with various teams, including Technical Program Managers, Network Engineers, and Field Engineers, to ensure the successful execution of network projects. Your primary objective will be to build a reliable, cost-effective, and scalable network that supports Google's extensive user base worldwide.

  • Build and operate Google's network reliably and at scale.
  • Execute deployment, maintenance, and operations of private data networks worldwide.
  • Develop creative approaches and collaborate with cross-functional teams to keep operational costs low.
  • Monitor the network and repair issues while anticipating needs and escalating issues.
  • Own network documentation, update and maintain network designs and plans.
  • Bachelor's degree in Network Engineering or Telecom Engineering, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2 years of experience in DWDM, TCP/IP, or system design operations methodology.
  • Experience working with field operation technicians, engineers, contractors, or vendors in a telecommunications environment.
  • Experience in one or more of the following disciplines: Layer 1 optical transmissions systems, layer 3 routing TCP/IP, wireless networking, network design, or operations.
