About The Position

The MIL Corporation is seeking a Network Engineering, Team Lead to support a Federal Government client in Patuxent River, MD. The Network Engineering Team Lead will provide support to the government client and interface with RDT&E and other support organizations. The Network Engineering Team Lead will apply system engineering and computer networking principles to the development, design and integration of hardware and software systems associated with local, regional and wide area networks and systems that process and route voice, video, data, and imagery information. This position currently requires an on-site schedule, with 5 days on-site and is eligible for Compressed Work Schedule (CWS). Schedule is subject to change based on company/contract requirements.

Requirements

  • A minimum of seven (7) years' experience working independently and/or as part of a team to configure, install, support and maintain network or system hardware and software infrastructure
  • 5 years of relevant team lead or management experience
  • Knowledge of basic concepts, terminology, and operations of a wide range of communications media (computer and telephone networks, satellite, fiber, wireless)
  • Ability to develop and write Standard Operating Procedures for technical and non-technical consumers as well as diagrams
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be able to move/lift up to 50 lbs
  • Must be flexible with work schedule to include occasional weekends

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity DoD DISN network infrastructure
  • Cisco CCNP Certification or higher
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Visio
  • Extensive experience with IPSEC, VPN, QoS, Multicast, OCSP, BGP, and L2TP
  • Familiarity with Linux - RHEL

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement computer and information networks, such as local area networks (LAN), wide area networks (WAN), intranets, extranets, and other data communications networks
  • Perform network emulation/virtualization, analysis, and planning
  • May also design network and computer security measures
  • May install and upgrade systems software and maintain software configuration management
  • May research and recommend network and data communications hardware and software
  • Provide project planning and execution support to government program manager
  • Assist with day-to-day operational aspects of the project
  • Serve as a Team Lead for five or less personnel, overseeing day-to-day operations, conducting performance evaluations, managing timekeeping and leave approvals, and preparing and submitting monthly team status reports
  • Assist with preparation and reviews deliverables prepared by team
