About The Position

Peraton is seeking an accomplished Network Engineering Manager to support a DOD contract in Linthicum, MD by leading enterprise network engineering operations, modernization initiatives, and a team of highly skilled network professionals. This role blends advanced technical expertise with project leadership and organizational management to ensure secure, resilient, and high-performance network services across mission-critical environments. As a premier provider of national security solutions, Peraton delivers full-spectrum network, cloud, and systems engineering capabilities to government partners across intelligence, cyber, defense, and space domains.

Requirements

  • Active TS clearance/SCI eligible.
  • 12 years of experience, may have supervisory or management experience.
  • Active IAT Level II certification.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in one of these fields of study: Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Software Engineering, or Data Science.
  • In lieu of a degree in one of these fields of study, one of following certifications are required: CEH, Cloud+, GCIH, GICSP, GSEC, Security+, SSCP, SecurityX/CASP+, CCNA, CCNP Security, CCSP, GCED, GCIA, GCLD, GDSA, or GFACT
  • Experience in at least four of the following: Network troubleshooting Routers/switches Cisco IOS / Junos OS Firewalls Hubs/bridges/gateways Packet investigation/analysis tools Database tools
  • Demonstrated experience leading complex technical projects.
  • Ability to perform detailed analyses, prepare reports, and deliver presentations.
  • Strong background with Cisco, Palo Alto, SonicWall, or similar network vendor technologies.

Nice To Haves

  • Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) Certification – Enterprise, Data Center, or Security.
  • Minimum 10 years in enterprise networking, featuring a proven track record of at least 3 years in a formal leadership or supervisory capacity.
  • Experience with: DDI (DNS, DHCP, IPAM) MultiCloud Fabric (MCF) Cloud engineering and modernization
  • Experience supporting large-scale DoD or Intelligence Community networks.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of network engineers, fostering technical excellence and career growth.
  • Establish team goals, best practices, and performance standards aligned with industry benchmarks.
  • Conduct workload assessments, resource planning, and staff assignments.
  • Recognize achievements, address performance issues, and support personnel actions when required.
  • Conduct regular staff meetings to communicate priorities, initiatives, and operational updates.
  • Participate in recruiting, hiring, and onboarding of new team members.
  • Prepare monthly performance and trend analysis reports for contract deliverables.
  • Serve as the senior Network Engineering Subject Matter Expert (SME) supporting DC3 mission requirements.
  • Lead the design, planning, and implementation of enterprise network communication systems.
  • Provide SME-level support for network hardware, software, and interconnection technologies.
  • Maintain and enforce network infrastructure standards, communication protocols, and security requirements.
  • Diagnose and resolve complex network performance issues; oversee tuning and optimization activities.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend enhancements to network architecture and capabilities.
  • Support DDI services (DNS, DHCP, IPAM) and MultiCloud Fabric (MCF) infrastructure.
  • Contribute to cloud engineering and modernization initiatives, including migration of legacy systems.
  • Lead medium-to-large complex projects and major phases of enterprise-scale initiatives.
  • Provide technical guidance for automated solutions, system studies, and advanced analyses.
  • Prepare and deliver technical reports, presentations, and documentation.
  • Monitor project performance, schedule adherence, and cost compliance.
  • Ensure timely resolution of network issues impacting mission operations.
  • Participate in on-call rotation, providing after-hours support for critical network incidents.
