SAIC's Space & Intel Business Group is seeking a Network Engineer to support the building and operation of a hybrid-cloud mission infrastructure and services. This role involves hosting various applications and requires an active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph. The Network Engineer will be responsible for continuous monitoring of IT systems, coordinating engineering projects, deploying and maintaining network systems, and providing technical support for network performance and security.

  • Assist with continuous monitoring of IT systems required for Customer accreditation.
  • Coordinate engineering projects, perform technical risk assessments, and resolve technical conflicts.
  • Deploy and maintain network systems.
  • Diagnose network issues and follow troubleshooting procedures to restore optimal performance.
  • Gather performance metrics and inform the Customer when thresholds are met.
  • Guide networking engineering efforts in hardware, software, and virtual infrastructure.
  • Maintain up-to-date network topology drawings.
  • Perform moderately complex network designs and upgrades with limited guidance.
  • Provide Tier-3 engineering and support for virtualization infrastructure.
  • Plan network configurations for effective integration and performance.
  • Prepare technical proposals for engineering review boards.
  • Provide system documentation to support A&A efforts.
  • Review user requests for network upgrades and assess impact on performance.
  • Shepherd engineering efforts in Windows and Linux servers, storage, and virtualization.
  • Support network life cycle stages: design, configure, test, deploy, and maintain.
  • Utilize network analysis tools to identify performance problems.
  • Diagnose and resolve technical problems with overseas populations.
  • Direct or perform installation of IT infrastructure and operating systems.
  • Inspect and test equipment prior to deployment.
  • Make recommendations on deployment strategies based on Customer priorities.
  • Provide end-to-end support of field network and forensic capabilities.
  • Provide real-time and 24/7 on-call support to worldwide users.
  • Provide SOPs and documentation to support field users and the program.
  • Provide technical support to forensic application developers to ensure data integrity.
  • Research and recommend systems and technologies to enhance existing systems.
  • Active TS/SCI with polygraph clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree with 14+ years of experience; Master's with 12+ years; PhD or JD with 9+ years.
  • Experience analyzing existing systems and identifying corrective actions.
  • Experience building, maintaining, and troubleshooting gold image hard drives.
  • Experience coordinating and performing security testing.
  • Experience creating network topology diagrams.
  • Expertise in designing, configuring, and troubleshooting Routing and Switching systems (Cisco).
  • Experience implementing L2 and L3 VPN across an MPLS network.
  • Experience installing, maintaining, and configuring Aspera Enterprise Server and P2P.
  • Experience with automation solutions configuration and management.
  • Experience with Software Defined Data Center (SDDC) and vRealize Suite.
  • Experience with virtual networks, servers, and workstations configuration and management.
  • Experience with VMware vCenter and VMware NSX-T management.
  • Experience with Hypervisor deployments.
  • Experience using forensic software (Cellebrite, XRY, WinHex, FTK, Autopsy).
  • Knowledge of Gateway Redundancy Protocols (HSRP, VRRP).
  • Experience with Network IP address management and security (firewalls, ACLs).
  • Knowledge of Routing Protocols (OSPF, EIGRP, BGP).
  • Experience with vulnerability scanning tools.
  • Experience in LAN and WAN environments.
  • Knowledge of TCP IP protocol suite, IP subnets, and routing protocols.
  • Experience in engineering design, build, and configuration of Linux servers and virtual infrastructure.
  • Experience in administration, troubleshooting, and support of Linux servers and virtual infrastructure.
  • Experience in engineering, implementation, and troubleshooting of VMware virtualization infrastructure.
  • Experience performing risk analysis for IT infrastructure changes.
  • Experience in system monitoring and analysis, including root cause analysis.
