The Mid-level Network Engineer plays a key role in supporting, enhancing, and optimizing Otava’s network and cloud infrastructure. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Troubleshoot and resolve a wide range of complex network issues across internal infrastructure and client environments. Perform scheduled migrations and upgrades of network infrastructure, including DCI (data center interconnect) changes. Lead circuit consolidation initiatives with vendors to optimize network performance and cost. Participate in an on-call rotation for after-hours support, including migrations, cutovers, deployments, and major incidents. Interface directly with customers and third-party vendors to diagnose and resolve network issues and support architectural improvements. Troubleshoot and remediate enterprise-level IT application issues (backups, DR, security controls, patching, etc.). Perform administrative tasks across operating systems, applications, and hypervisor layers. Monitor network events, conduct daily system walk-throughs, and support after-hours maintenance windows. Create and maintain detailed “as-built” network diagrams and documentation for both client and internal environments. Operate within strict Change Control processes to ensure accuracy, compliance, and minimal service interruption. Collaborate with a global team of engineers and administrators on cross-functional initiatives. Develop and deploy automation for repetitive or manual network tasks to increase operational efficiency. Perform additional duties as needed to support Otava’s strategic and operational objectives. Build respectful and collaborative relationships; consistently acknowledge team members’ contributions. Utilize team strengths effectively; encourage high-performance teamwork and efficient workflows. Deliver exceptional customer service; ensure clear communication and effective solution delivery for client issues.

  • 4+ years of experience working in enterprise network environments.
  • Demonstrated experience designing and implementing enterprise network solutions.
  • Strong understanding of virtual networking technologies; VMware experience required (NSX a plus).
  • Hands-on experience with Cisco and Cumulus routers/switches; Fortinet security products preferred.
  • Advanced understanding of network security technologies including ACLs, VPNs, IPS/IDS.
  • Working knowledge of VMware tech stack, including VCF and VCD.
  • Strong commitment to delivering superior client service and achieving outstanding customer satisfaction.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including participation in an on-call schedule.
  • Advanced networking expertise including BGP, OSPF, STP, and Layer 2/3 switching.
  • Ability to create highly accurate, clear, and comprehensive “as-built” diagrams and technical documentation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • One or more industry-recognized certifications preferred: CCNA, CCNP, VSP, ITIL, etc.
