About The Position

The Network Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, managing, and supporting enterprise-wide network infrastructure across all company facilities, including Kauffman Stadium, Surprise Stadium, Dominican Republic Academy, Minor League Affiliates, Urban Youth Academy, and RAD Complex. This role ensures reliable connectivity, secure operations, and seamless integration of third-party and MLB-supported technologies with the stadium and enterprise networks.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience in enterprise networking.
  • Knowledge of networking technologies, including firewalls (Meraki, Palo), switches (Cisco), and routers.
  • Strong understanding of routing protocols (OSPF, BGP, EIGRP, multi-cast)
  • Proven experience with large-scale WiFi deployments, troubleshooting, and vendor coordination.
  • Experience integrating and supporting third-party systems (POS, security, video, ticketing) within enterprise networks.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills; ability to act as liaison between MLB, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
  • Ability to work on-site during events and after-hours as needed to support critical systems.
  • Ability to travel to enterprise locations for network support or installation

Nice To Haves

  • Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNA) or higher.
  • Extreme Networks Associate (XNA) – Wireless or higher
  • Experience with stadium, sports, or large event venue network environments.
  • Familiarity with multicast video transport, video streaming, and replay systems.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and support enterprise-wide network infrastructure, including internet connectivity, routing, and switching across multiple facilities.
  • Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot network hardware and security systems, including firewalls, routers, and switches.
  • Monitor network performance and availability, ensuring high uptime and rapid resolution of connectivity issues.
  • Maintain secure and reliable inter-site connectivity to support internal business operations and external communications.
  • Implement and enforce network security standards, policies, and best practices.
  • Support enterprise Wi-Fi platforms for Surprise facilities, UYA, and Sports Complex parking areas. (Cisco Meraki)
  • Provide operational support and administration of venue-wide Wi-Fi infrastructure at Kauffman Stadium, including configuration, monitoring, and troubleshooting of wireless systems. (Extreme Wireless)
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and vendors to support large-scale events and ensure consistent network availability.
  • Act as the main point of contact for all third-party solutions connecting to the stadium network, including concession and retail POS, security camera systems, video storage, and ticket scanning infrastructure.
  • Ensure reliable and secure integration between external vendor systems and internal infrastructure.
  • Serve as primary point of contact for MLB technology infrastructure installations at Kauffman Stadium.
  • Provide support and coordination for systems such as player tracking cameras, instant replay systems, and video/data transport services.
  • Ensure compliance with MLB standards for technology deployment and operations.
