About The Position

This is a Cactus Wellhead position and is located in Houston, TX. Job Summary: Core functions include supporting the Cactus LAN/WAN network architecture and services. Evaluate current systems and recommend ways to improve the network infrastructure. Design and implement network solutions with a focus on cybersecurity, high availability, and fault tolerance. Manage contracted services for projects and maintain vendor relationships. Work autonomously in fast-paced, engaging, dynamic environment. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Essential duties and responsibilities include, but not limited, to the following. Practice safe work habits and comply with all quality, safety, health and environmental policies, procedures, programs and regulations. Configure and install network equipment including routers, switches, firewalls, wireless access points, NAC, VPN and load balancers in a multi-vendor environment. Provide expert-level support and troubleshooting for network-related issues escalated from Tier 1 team. Administer and support telephony in multiple use cases including remote users, branches, and call centers. Coordinate and resolve support cases with vendors, ensuring prompt issue escalation and resolution. Proactively manage and monitor the network infrastructure for performance, reliability, capacity, and degradation issues. Leverage centralized management tools to support operational efficiency. In coordination with the cybersecurity team, investigate and respond to network security alerts. Perform regular maintenance and deploy system upgrades such as firmware and software releases. Design, lead and implement network projects to enhance fault tolerance, high availability, scalability, and cybersecurity within the enterprise. Create and maintain Standard Operating Procedures, workflows, diagrams and inventories for network systems, software, and subscriptions. Perform analysis of configurations and settings against cybersecurity best practices, remediating findings as part regular vulnerability management. Research and enhance knowledge of industry and technological trends, assisting management in developing strategic roadmaps for secure network systems and architecture. Collaborate with infrastructure and applications teams enabling integration of new systems into standardized network architectures. Assist with disaster recovery and business continuity planning design and testing. Support certificate usage and management related to network services. Analyze vendors and contracts during service lifecycles for cost and operational efficiency. Collaborate with domestic and international teams and vendors. Provide network reports, logs and evidence as required for audit, security and compliance activities. Clearly articulate complex technical concepts and solutions to technical and non-technical teams, ensuring accurate understanding and effective collaboration. Implementing and supporting IT/OT/Cloud networking security initiatives and technologies. Leverage infrastructure as code and network automation and identify opportunities for additional uses. Any other tasks or duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (IT) from a four-year college or university, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 5+ years enterprise LAN/WAN/WLAN experience, supporting global 24x7 environments
  • 2+ hands-on experience with cloud platforms – Azure, AWS, or GCP
  • Advanced knowledge of switching and routing protocols and concepts.
  • Demonstrated expertise in cloud networking and SD-WAN technologies.
  • Deep understanding of network security technologies, methodologies, and controls.
  • Understanding of telephony technologies including hosted platforms and call centers.
  • Knowledge of Infrastructure-as-Code methodologies and other CI/CD concepts.
  • Aptitude to quickly evaluate, learn, and implement new technologies
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, high attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Exceptional customer-service and collaboration with team members.
  • Prioritization of tasks and projects in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
