About The Position

Qualis LLC is seeking a Network Engineer with experience in Network Administration, data warehousing and secured data transmission to support the 96 Range Control Squadron (96 RNCS). This position is located at Eglin AFB, FL.

Requirements

  • Experience with installing, configuring, and maintaining IPv4 networks, including firewalls, routers, switches
  • Experience applying DISA STIGs to network equipment
  • Ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of classified ISs and data using Air Force approved network engineering practices, information security standards, approved industry best practices, and by employing approved new technologies
  • Experience troubleshooting network hardware including but not limited to switches, routers, boundary protection, Cross-Domain Solutions, Data Diodes and various other network managed devices
  • HPC Network Experience Preferred (InfiniBand Mellanox/Nvidia and Cisco Systems)
  • Knowledge of Cyber analyst and troubleshooting tools and workflows to include: SCAP, Nessus (ACAS), Wireshark, Terminal Emulation and Nmap
  • Ability to maintain DoD 8140.03 certifications in the following environments: Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) / Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) Security
  • Understanding how networking functions within Linux systems.
  • Experience with the Risk Management Framework (RMF) Accreditation
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s with 3-10 years’ experience in Network administration, data warehousing, & secured Data transmission. Substitution of experience for education will be considered with government approval
  • Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose system problems required.
  • Must exemplify a dedication to achieving the mission of the 96TW as well as high standards of quality and excellence in performing the duties.
  • Must have an understanding of the specific procedures and processes of the Air Force Test Center and DoD regulations and guidelines.
  • Must have the ability to quickly understand the customer’s overall technical objectives and provide effective solutions.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills along with customer interaction and presentation capabilities required.
  • Must be able to work effectively alone, unsupervised, or within a group
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment while being able to prioritize work to balance multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Must hold an active Department of Defense (DoD) Secret Security Clearance to start.
  • Must be willing to travel up to 10%.
  • US Citizenship required.
  • Top Secret security clearance current within five years and be SAP and SCI eligible
  • Must be able to maintain level of clearance required for this position

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of virtualization technologies such as VMWare and Linux KVM
  • Experience with designing and developing scalable, maintainable, highly available network architectures
  • Knowledge of a scripting or programming language, such as Python, Java, Perl, or C, C++
  • Knowledge of NIST, NISPOM, DSS, JSIG and DoD Risk Management Framework (RMF) Cybersecurity requirements
  • Knowledge and experience with DoD STIGs, VMS, and DoD FSO operational standards
  • Experience with General Dynamics TACLANE to include the KG-175-X, KG-175F, and KG-175N
  • Ability to develop technical solutions to complex problems which require the regular use of ingenuity and creativity
  • Ability to perform independent research and analysis of network and cyber security systems
  • Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) and Cisco Certified Design Associate (CCDA)

Responsibilities

  • Establishing a networking environment by designing system configurations, installing systems, defining, documenting, and enforcing system standards, and maintaining the current network infrastructure
  • Enhancing network performance by monitoring connectivity, troubleshooting issues, scheduling upgrades, and collaborating with network architects for optimization.
  • Skillfully diagnose and resolve network outages and issues by systematically analyzing system performance, identifying faulty components, and implementing effective solutions to restore connectivity and enhance overall network reliability.
  • Communicate statuses to appropriate channels
  • Collaborate with other disciplines to rectify mission problems
  • Develop and maintain internal engineering and system documentation (e.g., policies, procedures, network diagrams, etc.)
  • Research and analyze products to determine their potential for meeting mission requirements and business needs
  • Work closely with senior technical resources to implement new solutions and troubleshoot complex issues
  • Carry out technician responsibilities as required, which encompass the installation and configuration of cables, along with setting up and testing various system and network equipment to ensure optimal performance and connectivity.
  • Enhances network security by creating and implementing policies, as well as defining and monitoring access controls.
