About The Position

Network Engineer The Opportunity: A well-designed network is critical to move data and enable Command and Control agencies to achieve their missions, but how can an organization make sure their network will fit their evolving needs? Crafting the right network, with the right equipment and software, requires a combination of technical skills and careful planning. That’s why we need an experienced network engineer like you who knows how to develop the exact network the DoD needs. As a network engineer on our team, you’ll use your experience in network design and architecture, system interoperability, network transport layers, multi-protocol label switching, gateway protocol, and virtual routing and forwarding to support the nation’s defense and respond to evolving adversaries. You’ll develop enterprise-wide infrastructure, troubleshoot and resolve complex network issues, analyze current working infrastructures, and increase security, reliability, and availability for mission-critical network systems. You’ll apply your expertise in routing and switching, integration of encryption gear, network design and architecture, system interoperability, network transport layers, multi-protocol label switching, gateway protocol, and virtual routing and forwarding as you join our team of problem-solvers to help the DoD evolve and deploy new capabilities and technologies. Your knowledge of network protocols, equipment, emerging technology, and configurations will come in handy as you optimize client operations and modernization. Using your experience in crytographic equipment, cryptography, key management, software and hardware firewalls, Cisco hardware, Juniper firewalls, cloud migration, optical infrastructure networking, and virtual routing and forwarding, you’ll serve as a trusted advisor to clients on mission-critical projects. Requirements

  • Experience with Internet Protocol (IP) networking, including routing and switching
  • Experience with firewall vendors
  • Experience with network administration
  • Experience with IT network design and deployment
  • Experience with enterprise networks
  • Experience in an operational environment
  • Experience with Juniper routers, Cisco routers, and Palo Alto firewalls
  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time
  • Ability to obtain a Secret clearance
  • HS diploma or GED

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with DoD networks
  • Possession of excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Engineering, or a related field preferred; Master's degree in IT, Computer Engineering, or a related field a plus
  • Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) or Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE) Certification
  • Juniper Networks Certified Internet Specialist (JNCIS) or Juniper Networks Certified Internet (JNCIE) Certification
  • Palo Alto ACE Certification
  • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or Juniper Networks Certified Internet Associate (JNCIA) Certification
  • Clearance: Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
