Job Summary Position responsible for providing support of network components and assisting with network planning and assessment.

Requirements

  • One (1) year of network level experience in a medium to large network environment (500 to 30,000 nodes)
  • One (1) year of experience with configuration and troubleshooting of workstation or server network components
  • Ability to configure varied network components such as switches and routers
  • Understanding of the conceptual basics of all topologies and protocols in the OSI model, as well as project management and methodologies
  • Planning and organizational skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work with customers

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelors degree preferred, not required

Responsibilities

  • Assists in the installation, configuration and maintenance of basic network components such as hubs, switches and bridges.
  • Assists in the assessment, diagnosis and resolution of basic network problems utilizing network analysis tools such as the Network Associates Sniffer.
  • Assists in the planning of basic to complex networks.
  • Works on teams and provide task assistance for all levels of projects.
  • Provides task level assistance for research and development efforts associated with network components.
  • Ensures safe care to patients, staff and visitors; adheres to all Memorial Hermann policies, procedures, and standards within budgetary specifications including time management, supply management, productivity and quality of service.
  • Promotes individual professional growth and development by meeting requirements for mandatory/continuing education, skills competency, supports department-based goals which contribute to the success of the organization; serves as preceptor, mentor, and resource to less experienced staff.
