About The Position

The Decision Advantage Business Area at Leidos has an opening for an experienced Secret cleared Network Engineer to work in our Orlando, FL office. Department of the Air Force (DAF) Battle Network and supporting infrastructure. In this mission we support the Department of the Air Force (DAF) to field and operate the customer's Digital Infrastructure. The Network Engineer will be involved in day-to-day activities and strategic long-term maturation of complex systems. Details are as follows:

Requirements

  • BS in Computer Science, IT, Cybersecurity, Network Engineering, or equivalent with 10+ years of experience, or MS with 8+ years of experience.
  • Active and current Secret clearance with ability to obtain and maintain TS/SCI clearance.
  • Certifications: CompTIA Security+ (or equivalent DoD 8140 Intermediate certification)
  • Microsoft Expertise: Microsoft Certified: Security, Compliance, and Identity Fundamentals.
  • Network Proficiency: Demonstrated experience in campus/enterprise network design, implementation, maintenance, operation, and troubleshooting.
  • Technical Skills: Experience with RHEL integration and configuring, activating, testing, and analyzing network systems, including troubleshooting ISP connectivity issues.
  • Customer Interaction: Proficiency in PC MS Office/M365 applications and ability to work directly with customers.
  • Data Handling: Experience managing sensitive data for commercial and/or Government customers.

Nice To Haves

  • Demonstrated proficiency with Juniper SD-WAN
  • Juniper Certified or Cisco Certified (CCNP EI)
  • Proficiency with network automation
  • Experience with general Linux administration.
  • Experience with some of the various virtualization technologies
  • Knowledge of ITIL Change & Configuration Management.
  • IAT Level III Certified
  • Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH).

Responsibilities

  • Provide Network Engineering support for the design, implementation, maintenance, and operation of an existing and rapidly changing network architecture.
  • Develop and review engineering artifacts for network infrastructure capabilities from on-premise to cloud systems (i.e. switches, routers, firewalls, and cloud networking elements)
  • Diagnose and resolve network issues impacting operation and performance in an Agile fashion
  • Primary resource for a hybrid SD-WAN deployment in a specialized and technically diverse team.
  • Serve as an escalation point for the network and security operation center (NSOC) regarding network issues and vendor/client onboarding.
  • Work closely with network engineers, system administrators, and application developers to ensure seamless integration of network solutions.
  • Brief stakeholders on prevalent efforts and roadblocks.
  • Participate in and contribute to cross-discipline training and mentoring efforts with fellow engineers.
