We are seeking a mission-focused Network Engineer to join our client's high-performing team in support of national security initiatives. As part of the infrastructure team, you will play a key role in designing, implementing, maintaining, and troubleshooting secure and scalable networks across classified and high-performance computing (HPC) environments. This role supports complex computing environments, involving high-speed data transport, system interconnectivity, and integration of advanced technologies in support of real-world mission success.

  • Design, deploy, and maintain network infrastructure in secure and performance-driven environments
  • Configure, troubleshoot, and optimize network routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers
  • Manage and monitor network performance, availability, and security
  • Implement and enforce network security standards, access controls, and encryption protocols
  • Support the integration of mission systems with various COTS, GOTS, and open-source tools
  • Work closely with systems engineers, software developers, and cybersecurity professionals to align network configurations with evolving project needs
  • Maintain detailed documentation of network topologies, configurations, and procedures
  • Support network changes and upgrades using change management best practices
  • Perform root cause analysis of network issues and implement corrective actions in real time
  • Active TS/SCI with Polygraph
  • Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of experience in network engineering or administration
  • Experience with enterprise-grade routers, switches, and firewalls (e.g., Cisco, Juniper, Palo Alto)
  • Proficiency with TCP/IP , DNS , DHCP , VPNs , NAT , and routing protocols (e.g., BGP, OSPF)
  • Familiarity with network security tools and best practices (firewalls, IDS/IPS, VLANs, etc.)
  • Hands-on experience with Linux CLI and basic scripting for automation
  • Experience with network monitoring tools such as SolarWinds, Nagios, or Wireshark
  • Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills in complex environments
  • Understanding of layered network architectures , high-availability design, and redundant systems
  • Certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, JNCIS, or Security+
  • Experience supporting HPC or data-intensive environments
  • Familiarity with SDN (Software-Defined Networking) and virtual networking technologies
  • Experience with network automation tools such as Ansible or Python scripting
  • Understanding of cloud-based networking and hybrid cloud architectures
