About the position

The Senior Network Engineer at Perfecta is responsible for maintaining the design and integrity of the corporate enterprise network, including customer and program enclaves. This role involves engineering, monitoring, and evolving a network between satellite offices and a central data center, ensuring it meets corporate objectives and customer demands. The engineer will implement and maintain an MPLS-based network, provide technical assistance, and mentor junior staff while recommending network improvements.

Responsibilities

  • Manage an MPLS-based network and bond multiple WAN connections for fault-tolerance.
  • Advise on network aspects of in-house developed hardware and third-party network elements.
  • Configure and install network devices and services including firewalls, routers, switches, VPN, and load balancers.
  • Teach, coach, and guide junior network engineers.
  • Proactively monitor network performance and troubleshoot issues, including DNS.
  • Create and test security measures, including authentication and disaster recovery.
  • Communicate with end users as necessary.
  • Maintain comprehensive technical documentation of network configurations.
  • Create and update network topology diagrams using MS Visio.
  • Recommend improvements for network performance, capacity, reliability, and scalability.
  • Install networks and equipment in OCONUS locations as directed.

Requirements

  • BS in Computer Network Engineering, Computer Science, Telecommunications, or related field.
  • At least 10 years of experience as a Senior Network Engineer/Architect.
  • Professional certifications: CCNP required; CCIE highly desired.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Must be able to obtain a TS/SCI security clearance.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Cisco, Cisco Meraki, Dell switches, Netgate Firewalls, Juniper, Fortinet, Ubiquiti.
  • Familiarity with access control models and network security.
  • Working knowledge of network diagnostic, monitoring, and protocol analysis tools.
