The position involves assisting in the management, planning, monitoring, support, and operations of the Network Infrastructure. This includes working with Cisco Switches, Routers, Wireless Controllers, Wireless Access Points, and security devices. The role also requires testing new products, technology, and configurations, as well as recommending networking solutions to meet departmental and organizational goals. Additionally, the position supports a variety of applications and processes that depend on the network and provides 24x7 network support by participating in the IT Network group after hours on call schedule and performing scheduled maintenance and upgrades during weekends and evening hours.

  • Assists in the management, planning, monitoring, support, and operations of the Network Infrastructure.
  • Works with Cisco Switches, Routers, Wireless Controllers, Wireless Access Points, and security devices.
  • Tests new products, technology, and configurations.
  • Recommends networking solutions to meet departmental and organizational goals.
  • Supports a variety of applications and processes that depend on the network.
  • Provides 24x7 network support by participating in the IT Network group after hours on call schedule.
  • Performs scheduled maintenance and upgrades during weekends and evening hours.
  • Associate Degree in Computer Science or related field, OR equivalent work experience.
  • Working knowledge and good troubleshooting abilities of network problems and outages on a wide range of hardware and software products in a networking environment.
  • College Degree (BS, BA).
  • Strong understanding of switching, routing, TCP/IP unicast and multicast traffic, static and dynamic routing protocols.
  • Familiarity with network monitoring software and protocols such as SNMP, ICMP, and Syslog.
  • Network Engineer Certification.
